Friday night

I am SO worn out you guys! It’s been a HELL of a week!

So not sure if I told you but my moms leg is definitely broken. She’s stuck wearing a boot for 4-6 weeks.

The boot

Work has been insane this week! A pool inspector came and said she would close us down if I didn’t get a specific form to her. My pool guy wrote something up and sent it. It wasn’t good enough. I had to fill out a special form and go get it notarized! The banks don’t all have a notary anymore either. I went to 2 different banks over 2 days but got it done and emailed it to her. I don’t think the neighborhood would be happy if they couldn’t swim. That wasn’t the only thing she said either. We have a drainage hole in the back corner behind a bunch of bushes but she said a small child could climb over a brick wall, through the bushes, and into the pool so that had to be fixed. The hole has been there for 40 years but okay woman, whatever. It’s closed now!

If you can see the new mortar versus the old (new is darker), you’ll be able to see the size of the hole.

Now it’s at the half point of our fiscal year so I have to look at our budget to see what we can afford over the next six months. I really want to fix our streets so here’s hoping my numbers come out good!

I went today after work and got my moms temporary handicap placard. I had to drive to the courthouse and wait only 45 minutes to get it. It’s good through February next year. I gave it to her after stopping to get her car registered at the store. There’s wasn’t a line there thankfully! I could have gotten back in line at the courthouse and done it there but no thanks, I’ll go to the grocery store! Glad I did. Anyway, she looks at it and asks me, “Why is it red?” I tell her temporary ones are red. She said phooey. She really wants a permanent one so she doesn’t have to park far and walk. Too bad!

I’ve been so frustrated and tired, I snapped at her because she was tapping her fingernails on the metal wheelchair at a doctors office. I tried first putting my hand on hers but she kept doing it and I snapped. That’s what no caffeine, no nicotine, and no food for hours will do to me! I apologized later too.

I’ve been so frustrated that I’m peeling more wallpaper. I know, I’m slow at this but it’s not like it’s anyones favorite thing to do and if it is yours, please come over!

An entire corner done (I know, except that one piece on the ceiling – I can’t reach it!

I hope your week has been better than mine. I haven’t been this worn out since I was working 3 jobs trying to get by 10 years ago! I hope everyone has a fantastic weekend too.

Wow, your days are very interesting and busy! I’m glad that your mum’s leg has been taken care of. The hole that was plugged looks very large, it should be closed off. I have a permanent handicap tag because of my back. Have a good weekend!

Oh wow, I had no idea your back was that bad! I’m sorry to hear that. It was 4 bricks tall and 3 bricks wide but was hidden, it’s done now though. You too!

The inspection was right in my view to have the hole closed. It’s all about insurance and liability these days. Mostly, my back is okay, but once in every three months or so, it seems to “let go” and pops out which renders me a serious couch potato that can hardly get off of the couch. A cane is always handy in my home. Sucks…

I’m sorry to hear that! Yes, I have learned all about liability! The entire playground and pool are liabilities!

Huge liabilities. It’s the same when you drive your car. There are so many liabilities that could play out in an accident. Always be on the defensive!

Bummer that your mum has a broken foot. The boot helps as it helped me when I had foot surgery. Rest up Julie! Work can never finish. Take care.

I’m glad it helped you! If she wouldn’t climb up and down our stairs, it might help her more. 😂

Aaah, I had to be brave. That would be the first step being the hardest. Wishing her a speedy recovery.
